• Ref.: Albert was my great-grandfather. His daughter, Elsie, lived to be 99. She died two years ago and I knew her well. She had photos of her parents in the house. So, I knew his face. He lived in Michigan after immigrating. His mother Margaret also lived with him until she died. I'm not yet sure the years that they immigrated, if it was together or independently of each other. Cities where they lived include, Ludington, Suttons Bay and Traverse City. All in Michigan. He was a laborer when he arrived in Michigan, but later worked as a mate on the steamships of Lake Michigan. He married Hilda Elizabeth Ledman 27 Nov 1912 Hennepin, Minnesota. I do not know how they met or how the marriage came to be. They had 3 children: Author, Linnea and Elsie. Elsie is my grandmother. I'm still trying to make sense of it all, so this is the 'skeleton' story. (Kerri Grace)
